Set in the beautiful hills overlooking Sioux City, Iowa, Holy Spirit Retirement Home is Siouxland’s only faith-based, locally owned entity. Our rich tradition for providing excellent patient care starts with our strong continuum of care approach, meaning our residents receive the right level of care for their individual health goals and situation.
As part of our resident-centered philosophy, we offer vital extras to support our residents emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually. Onsite physical, occupational and speech therapy services encourage our residents to regain a level of independence. Daily activities and programs offer residents the opportunity to socialize and embrace new friendships. In addition, our beautiful Chapel offers daily Mass; which allows time for quiet reflection, prayer and spiritual growth. Supported by our resident Priest Father Francis Makwinja and three resident sisters that provide spiritual support to our residents and families that reside here.
At Holy Spirit, each of our facilities—skilled nursing, assisted living, long-term assisted living, memory care and independent living—is built around a neighborhood concept. Residents get to know each other, creating a true pride amongst residents of the Holy Spirit community. On most days, you will find residents sharing stories over coffee after Mass. Or, you may see residents catching up with family and friends in the entrance of our beautiful new addition.
Ask any one of our residents, and they will agree: there is a lot to love about retirement home living at Holy Spirit.
